Exporting a consent evidence pack

Download every consent record for one phone number, with a check that your vault has not been changed since each record was saved.

Before you start

  • The DNC Audit Pack or Compliance Suite in your CRM plan, or the DNC Audit Pack on a direct account
  • The phone number the request is about

Tip

Export the pack as soon as a complaint or demand arrives, and give the file to your attorney unchanged.

An evidence pack gathers everything your Consent Vault holds for one phone number into a single file. It is the thing to hand your attorney when someone says they never agreed to hear from you.

Important

The pack shows which records you saved, when, and that none of them has changed since. It does not show that the consent was valid. Your attorney decides what the records mean for your case. This article is not legal advice.

Export the pack

Open Consent Vault from the left menu.

Step 2. Enter the phone number

Type the full ten digit number into Phone. The table below filters to matching records, so you can see what the pack will hold before you download it.

The export needs at least seven digits and matches on the last ten. A shorter number can pull in other numbers that end the same way, so always enter all ten.

Step 3. Choose Export evidence pack

Choose Export evidence pack. The button stays grayed out until a phone number is entered. Your browser downloads a file named after the number, for example consent-evidence-5551234567.json.

What is in the pack

The file opens in any text editor. It holds five parts.

Part What it shows
Summary A short written overview. How many records matched, when consent was first and last captured, and how many came from each source.
Records by phone Every record whose number ends in the same ten digits, oldest first, with the full saved content and its fingerprint.
Records by associated email Records not already matched by phone that share an email with one of the phone matches. A form without a phone field often leaves an email only record like this.
Chain check The result of checking every record in your vault against its fingerprint.
Account details The sign in email of the person who exported it, the CRM account it covers, and the time it was made.

For a recording, the record holds the audio file's own fingerprint, file name and size. The pack does not include the audio itself, so send your original file along with it.

Read the chain check

The summary ends with an integrity line. INTEGRITY: VERIFIED means every record in your vault still matches its fingerprint and the chain is unbroken, so no record has been changed, removed or reordered since it was saved.

INTEGRITY: FAILED means the check found a break and names the record where it happened. Records after that point cannot be relied on without further review.

The check covers every record in your vault, including records for other numbers, because one change anywhere would break the chain after it.

A record a team member imported before your account shared one vault can sit on that person's own chain. The pack lists it and checks that chain too, with its own integrity line. The pack shows only whether that chain is intact, never the other records on it.

INTEGRITY: NOT VERIFIED means one chain could not be checked when the pack was made. The pack is then partial and does not count as verified. Export it again before you rely on it.

Frequently asked questions

No record in your vault matches that number. Everyone on a CRM account sees the same records, so if you belong to more than one account, check that you are in the account that collected the consent. Otherwise check the number for a typo, then search by the person's email on the Consent Vault page. A record saved under an email only shows up in the pack when it shares that email with a phone match.

Can I export a pack for an email address?

Not directly. The pack is built from a phone number. Search by email on the page to see those records.

What should I do if the check says FAILED?

Do not import anything to try to fix it. Keep the pack exactly as it downloaded, share it with your attorney, and reach out to DialClear support so the break can be looked into.

Who can export a pack?

Anyone who can open the Consent Vault page. You do not need edit access to export. Every member of a CRM account gets the same pack. A record sent with an API key is only in the pack of the person who owns the key.
